Wanting to write a mystery book, and a children’s book, has been something that I have wanted to do for a number of years. I started with the mystery book and wanted to pattern my style like that of Carolyn Keene who wrote many Nancy Drew mystery books.
I always enjoyed reading them as a youth because they were exciting, interesting, easily to followed, and easily read. I often found myself reading chapter after chapter wanting to find out what was to happen next in the story.
Carolyn achieved much success in writing those Nancy Drew books that I felt that I should follow her lead. I had developed several endings to the story — Secret of The Old Barn — and was not convinced on which one to use. Hence, the book still hasn’t been published, but I’m back on it again.
